Peace Dojo International

Peace Dojos International (PDI) envisions a renaissance of Community that globally embraces our interrelatedness with one another as a necessity for sustaining life on this planet.

Our mission is to develop and share practices that help us stay compassionate, centered and creative within the fullness of, and the service to, Community.

More explicitly PDI’s mission is to establish and support a global network of martial art based educators and consultants dedicated to offering training programs and resources that promote and enable collaborative peace building efforts in business, education, politics, interpersonal relationships and the realms of social justice.

Peace Dojos International (PDI), a program of Aiki Extensions,) offers, through the foundational work of the martial arts and its time honored tradition of self mastery, basic mind/body training for skillfully engaging conflict nonviolently in order to more effectively receive the deeper messages behind the conflict.

A Peace Dojo is a martial art school in which martial practice is explicitly oriented towards teaching skills of non-violent conflict resolution and creative peacemaking.

A Peace Dojo engages in rigorous and deliberate training practices to develop the capacity for skillful, healing action and the courage of heart needed to face and transform the fear and violence in one and in the world.

In addition, A Peace Dojo seeks to take what it teaches “out of the dojo –and into the world,” by promoting outreach peacemaking projects in the greater community; and bring a fresh addition to the studies of conflict and conflict resolution.

Our training programs integrate the martial arts with consensus building processes, Somatic disciplines and psychology, Nonviolent Communication, Alternatives to Violence, Yoga, Meditation and more.

Integrating these practices provides a foundation of respect for self, each other and the Earth that provides for us in a way that furthers ones own capacity to participate and act in alignment with ones highest and deepest values.
