Conflict to Connection and Healing

Engaging conflict effectively is not about being centered, grounded, integrated, balanced and loving at all times. It is about learning to re-adjust quickly when we are “off center.” In this workshop we will learn how to notice our conditioned responses to conflict and practice ways to stay relaxed and present in the midst of stress. A relaxed, balanced presence can transform a physical or emotional attack into a friendly handshake.

When we learn to notice our conditioned responses, we can then learn to see conflict as our own resistance to change. The more we understand our own resistance to conflict, the better we can receive the lessons offered in order to harmonize and respond to the conflict within and around us. In partner practice we will give one another feedback as we create a safe container to explore ourselves, the nature of conflict and how it divides us. We will also make time to engage in conversations for reflection, as well as have fun.

All of these workshops are for everyone—big, small, old or young, regardless of strengths and weaknesses or handicaps.

We help one another to identify some of the basic truths of relationship. The techniques are simplified and distilled as much as possible to provide a language, as well as a daily practice, to experience and remember.

You will learn how to:

  • Notice our intentional/attentional states
  • Center
  • Communicate through our stances and spatial relationships
  • Develop good timing—process and patience awaiting an advantage.
  • Get off the line of attack -not taking things personally
  • Harmonize conflict – engaged non resistance(empathic technique), giving and receiving in the same moment
  • Develop a healing touch—how to extend ourselves in a way that leads our interactions to a healing place for all.
