About Liminal Somatics

At Liminal Somatics we believe the most valuable asset we have for navigating life’s transitions and challenges is our ability to stay present and creative.  Our unique somatic approach integrates our minds and perceptions with the natural rhythms, sensations, emotions and moods of our bodies.  This grounds us in the present moment and connects us to our own intuitive wisdom.  The practices that build a somatic awareness begin with who you are and what you value.   As a leader of others and your own life it is essential to align your actions  (and your organizations’) with what you care about.

Somatics works with the historical, biological, social, spiritual, linguistic, and emotional characteristics that are unique to each person. Working somatically means engaging the human organism in its entirety.  It requires bringing to awareness and choice how life takes shape in us and how we shape ourselves toward life.  In other words, our bodies are literally shaped by our experiences.  This shape informs our sense of identity, affects how we interpret the world and affects how the world responds to us.
Somatic education helps bring awareness and choice to how we show up in our lives and provides appropriate practices to become more effective in manifesting what we value and care to bring forth in the world.

In our work, we pay special attention to breath, sensation, movement and the rhythms of the body.   This helps us guide each person towards the skill-building practices for responding creatively and conciously to the changes, pressures and opportunities presented in their lives.
Our Somatic approach literally brings your values and commitments into your musculature, bones and cells.  This cutting edge work develops your awareness, skill and character to respond powerfully and with grace in ways that coaching with words alone cannot.
